How Elevate H.E.R. Worth Began

Like many good things, Elevate H.E.R. Worth started with a conversation over tea.

Co-founders Wendie Veloz and Ashley Wynn Grimes met at a local equity incubator in Washington, DC, both passionate about empowering women and creating spaces for business growth that also prioritize well-being. What started as a casual breakfast meeting at Busboys and Poets soon turned into a partnership with a powerful vision: to create events that help women entrepreneurs succeed in both their personal and professional lives.

Wendie, a seasoned social impact strategist and holistic business coach, and Ashley, a cannabis nurse and reiki master, quickly realized they had more in common than they thought. Both believed that success in business requires more than just strategy—it also requires wellness, healing, and community. They shared a passion for supporting women business owners who felt burnt out, frazzled, and disconnected from their purpose.

Wendie had a calling to create an event with Ashley for women in business, and the Elevate H.E.R. Worth concept was born. The name stands for Holistic Energy Reset, emphasizing the integration of mind, body, and business success.

The goal was simple but powerful: create a movement where women entrepreneurs could gather in a supportive environment, rejuvenate, and leave with the clarity, connection, and business strategies they need to thrive. And so, Elevate H.E.R. Worth launched its first event in the Washington, DC area, and it was clear this space is needed!

Our First Event: A Transformative Success

Our first event, a transformational retreat for women entrepreneurs was held in Germantown, MD at Black Rock Center for the Arts, just outside of Washington. It was designed for women who needed a break from the day-to-day grind of running their businesses, but who also craved strategic direction and growth.

The event brought together women from diverse industries—coaches, healers, business owners, and professionals—who shared one thing in common: the need to rejuvenate and find clarity. We kicked off the day with an outdoor introduction that blended movement and fun with your 30-second non-pitch-pitch. Ashley led a deeply healing crystal wrapping session followed by Wendie’s signature Idea Surgery session.

Attendees left the event not only with actionable business insights but also with a deep sense of connection to themselves and to the women they met. It was clear from the feedback that the combination of holistic wellness and business strategy was exactly what they needed to reset and recharge.
